Scott Sanzone - First DUI, Now MIA

Scott Sanzone, the Sykesville Councilman who was found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol was sentenced to one year of probation by the Carroll County District Court. If I'm not mistaken, probation is the harshest sentence allowed for a politician - especially when he is being prosecuted by a bunch of attorneys who hope to be politicians one day. I think it's called a professional courtesy.

Anyway, the Carroll County Times is reporting that Scott Sanzone hasn't attended a Sykesville Town Council meeting for four consecutive meetings since the October 19th incident.

In the words of the Ming-Ming the duck on the Wonder Pets, "This is sewious! We need to find Scott Sanzone. I want to organize the blogsphere and we'll create a search party. We must find him so that he can report to the next meeting!

Group one - you go check the bar at Beck's in downtown Sykesville. Group two - you check that new pub called County Cork Wine Pub. Group three - you check at the bar on the second floor of the Harvest Inn.

Another Drunk Politician Wasn't Really Drunk

Following in the footsteps of fellow Montgomery County politician Kumar Barve, Maryland State Delegate Herman Taylor was acquitted for driving while intoxicated. Although he was in his idling vehicle (which means it is in operation). And he was intoxicated.

I wonder if being a politician exempts you from the law. I mean, you write the laws therefore when you get in trouble for breaking the laws you get a break, right? Do you think if Eludius was arrested for driving while impaired that he'd get off so easy? Doubt it.

It certainly helps Delegate Taylor's case that he's for strong drunk driving laws. But then again, isn't every politician who's arrested for being impaired in favor of tough drinking laws?

There's a nice word that describes Delegate Taylor - hypocrite.

Senator Drugs On Currie?

Oops. That should have been Senator Currie on drugs. Last week Prince George's County State Senator Ulysses Currie was served a search warrant by the FBI. They removed many items from his District Heights home and also from the his office at Shopper's Food Warehouse.

Yesterday, a report obtained by the Washington Post revealed that some of the items seized included marijuana and drug packing materials. Great. Currie, who most thought that he was the eminent successor as the State Senate President back when Mike Miller pretended he was retiring, is now looking like a donkey. He will probably still get the nomination even if he is in jail. Don't let criminal activity get in the way of political nominations!

When asked about the marijuana, we replied that he didn't know nothing about it. If you went to Baltimore City Public Schools, then it's end of story. However, we suburbanites know that a double-negative is a positive, so Senator Currie clearly knows all about the marijuana in his house.

I'll be interested in how he gets out of this. I know he will, and without a scratch. Perhaps Martin O'Malley will pardon him. I did some researching and it seems that Martin O'Malley has never denied smoking the roach with Senator Currie. I'd like to hear his side of the story.
